We are pleased to announce the start of registrations for the two-day mountain running event on 30th and 31st October 2021 organized by the Sports Association of mountain running athletes “ARKALOS” under the auspices of the Municipality of Sfakia and the Region of Crete!
The payment process will begin on 1st October in a new communication.
Races are as follows:
Saturday 30/10 →Sfakia Sky Marathon (43km, d+3000m)
Sunday 31/10 →7οSfakia vertical run (4,5km, d+ 690m)
Starting from the ferryboat as soon as the doors open!
→Arkalaki run 2021 (1km kids race)
Many surprises await the athletes who will participate in the race Sfakia Sky Marathon (43km, d+3000m):
- “GROSSGLOCKNER ULTRATRAIL®FREEPASS” – Thanks to Julbo, one of the most famous manufacturers of sunglasses &eye glasses. The first female and first male winners of the Sfakia Sky Marathon will be awarded free entry and airfare for the GROSSGLOCKNER ULTRA-TRAIL race® inAustria!!!
- “SEA TO SUMMIT”– There will be a separate award for the first male and female athlete who will reach the top of the White Mountains first, Pachnes at2454maltitude(20km, d+ 2600)and finish the race within the timelimit!
- “BRING THE CHEESE”A head of traditional graviera of Crete4kgprepared in a traditional way by the shepherds of Sfakia will be located at26Kmof the race at an altitude of2000m!!! The first athlete who chooses to carry it (in a special bag) with him until the end of the race in Anopolis will win the challenge and become the owner of the cheese and bag.
